Classes will be on the third Saturday each month starting April 18, 2026 at 10AM, but we can be very flexible!  Tuition is paid in three installments, and you must make it to the third installment to get your two cases of wine. $50, $100, $100, or a total of $375 for the course.  Fill out the form below to sign up.  See you on soon!

We will show you how to build your own trellis, choose your own varieties, and make your own wine from a small vineyard you can grow in your yard.  It takes about 10 plants for 5 gallons, or 100 plants for a barrel.  Each plant takes about 80 square feet of land, (30'x30' for 5 gallons, or 90'x90' for a barrel).  We have a larger (1 acre) vineyard and a small test vineyard that the students can grow and maintain during 2026.

If you want to grow grapes and make wine in CNY, this is the class for you.  We have over 20 years of experience and have tested over 20 varieties.  We will meet once a month from April to November, and you will learn how to train, prune, plant, thin, spray, comb, leaf pull, harvest, press, ferment, rack, filter, preserve, barrel age, and bottle.  When the class is over, you will bring home two cases of wine!

Wine was originally about preserving your harvest for vitamins and minerals in the winter.  You can preserve a whole harvest for decades without freezing, refrigeration, or even any power at all.  The grape varieties native to Central New York make an odd flavored "foxy" wine and European grapes aren't hardy enough to grow here.  In CNY you must grow hybrid grapes, and varieties developed in the 21st century make really great wine!
